Motorcycle frames are welded from numerous irregularly shaped steel tubes and stampings, featuring complex structures full of welds, grooves, and blind holes. They are exposed to harsh environments with mud, gravel, and de-icing salt for extended periods. Traditional spraying often suffers from missed coating in concave corners and exposed edges due to the Faraday cage effect. Powder coating, with its ability to form a thick film in one pass, zero VOC, and excellent salt-spray resistance, has become the preferred "paint-to-powder" process for frames.

(1) Heavy-Duty Corrosion Protection Pre-treatment
A fully automatic immersion pre-treatment line of "degreasing → rinsing → zinc/zirconium phosphating → rinsing → drying" is adopted. The phosphating film forms dense crystals, significantly improving adhesion at welds and sharp edges, enhancing salt-spray resistance by 50%.
(2) High-Penetration Electrostatic Spraying System
Equipped with high Faraday-effect-overcoming spray guns featuring dynamic frequency conversion, high powder output, and ultra-strong electrostatic penetration capability, which forcefully drive powder into shielded areas such as tube interiors and weld overlap surfaces, achieving "automatic back-side wrapping."
A large cyclone post-filter recovery system is used, achieving a one-pass powder utilization rate of 95%, with easy color-change cleaning and no dead corners where powder can accumulate on rough frame structures.
(3) Overhead Conveyor and Thick-Film Curing
A step-type overhead chain conveyor steadily transports the frame through the powder booth, avoiding film thickness deviation caused by swaying. Powder coating thickness is controlled at 80~120μm (local touch-up to 150μm at welds is possible), followed by passage through a 180~200°C through-type curing oven for 15-20 minutes, obtaining a fully cross-linked, tough coating.
(4) Automatic Touch-up and Inspection System
An online film thickness gauge and manual visual inspection stations are set up after curing oven exit. Minor touch-ups or markings are applied to welds and dead angles to ensure 100% final product qualification.
